Government Teachers Training College Deoghar, popularly known as Deoghar B. Ed. College, is
located in the holy city of Deoghar in the state of Jharkhand (India). The place
carries significance by being one amongst the Dwadesh (twelve) Jyotirlingams of
lord Shiva better known as Kamnalingam.
Deoghar has been since time immemorial a seat of higher learning, performing arts
and spiritual knowledge. The place finds mention in numerous ancient scriptures.
In modern times, Deoghar evolved as a city par excellence in the field of
education, arts, culture and a seat of higher spiritual knowledge. Frequently
referred as the cultural capital of Jharkhand.
In such pious a location, Government Teachers Training College was established in
the year 1962. Now in its 55th. year of formation, Government Teachers Training
College has a repute very few can match.

Teaching is not only imparting
our knowledge, ideas, experiences and traditions to the
next generation, but also is 'Art' and 'Science'. Nothing is
constant in this world, so is teaching. Therefore methods of teaching should be
adapted to the needs of the changing environment.
We not only impart theoretical concepts of teaching but also the practical
aspects of teaching through various co-curricular and extracurricular
activities.
We try to prepare strong individuals, who are ready to meet the challenges of
modern times. Our aim is not only to prepare good teachers but also good
citizens of our nation.
